Deco mass-production right here! In 1918, the American jewelry firm Belais Manufacturing Co. patented their own specific white gold alloy formula in the United States. Belais aggressively marketed white gold as a superior and highly accessible alternative to platinum. (WW1 had requisitioned all platinum for the war effort.) During the 1920s, American manufacturers perfected the production of white gold filigree by introducing die-cast stamping machinery. Tons of pressure stamped dense sheets of white gold into hyper-precise, crisp, geometric filigree patterns. That's what we're seeing here. c. 1930.
