Sometimes these were called "keeper rings". They were used to secure a too-big ring on the finger (put this buckle ring on top.) The belt motif symbolized fidelity. Completely hand-engraved; hallmarks for Birmingham, sterling silver and the date mark - lowercase g - for 1882. Size 6 3/4; resizable. There's an unengraved band at the back to allow this.
