This was supposed to be a SHELL. Very abstracted, very Georgian. 1\" tall including loop at top, 1\/2\" wide. Glass \"tassies\" were invented and produced starting in the 1760s by Scottish gem engraver James Tassie. In 1763 in Dublin, they developed a secret, high-lead vitreous glass paste formula used to cast precise, colored replicas of ancient carved gems, cameos, and intaglios.  Production flourished through the late 18th century (1766–1799) after James Tassie moved his studio to London, creating thousands of portraits and antique replicas for high-profile collectors like Catherine the Great.
