Gold Fill split ring at top, gilt-metal type twisted wire decorations. The Victorians loved these pink and purple (extravangant!) garden flowers. In Floriology it symbolized "confiding love". I think this is Bog Oak or some variant of Gutta Percha. 2 1/4" long, 1/2" wide, c. 1870. Was probably one of a pair of earrings or part of a larger piece of jewelry like a necklace.
