THE LEGENDARY jewelry historian Diana Scarsbrick wrote a book on this type of ring in 2021; it’s called “I like my Choyce”. She focuses on maybe the most personal of all rings: those associated with love and marriage. The majority of these gold bands are inscribed with English mottos expressing admiration, affection, and pledges of fidelity. This one says "A token of true love" and would make an excellent wedding or commitment band. c. 1700.
