In European and East Asian folklore, foxes are often depicted as cunning animals with magical powers. In Native American folklore, foxes are sometimes trickster companions to Coyote. In the year 1900, when this diamond fox was made in England, these animals were probably known best for their unfortunate involvement in fox hunting, a barbaric sport that's banned there now. Not in the US, though. 'MERICA!
