A remarkable Edwardian signet ring with a central lapis crest and shoulders adorned with the figures of a lion and a unicorn. These heraldic beasts represent the United Kingdom, the unicorn (Scotland) and the lion (England) have appeared together on the royal coat of arms since the early 17th century when James I of England acceded to the throne (at the time he was already King of Scotland). Large in scale, unusual in style and heartwarmingly well worn - this ring was clearly treasured by its previous owner.
