c. 1800. Plain metal top and chains, 1 1/8" wide and about 2" tall. Probably once had some sort of organic material lining the top, like cork or leather, to help hold it on. Would probably benefit from that again, if you want to wear it as a pendant. I doubt it's watertight, but it's AWESOME. Some visible gilding loss. I see some minor chipping/staining, maybe a bit of glue or resin or something under the cap?
