We don't see mourning rings of this quality much. Extra-fancy blue and white enamel stripes frame a diamond and pearls; the locket in the back holds the hair of the celebrated "Mrs Martha Wormald Obit 11 Oct AEt at 50" engraved around hair locket. She died in 1796 with quite a bit of money. Memorial rings like this were given out in multiples to friends and family of the deceased, and only the richest members of society could afford put diamonds on them.
