An early 19th century wax seal fob with an amethyst intaglio depicting a thistle beneath the words “Dinna Forget”. "Dinna" - the Scottish dialectical spelling of "don't" - is both charming and also very likely a patriotic statement. This piece would have been impressed in hot wax to form a seal on correspondence way back in the days before postage stamps and self-adhesive envelopes.
