In adversis etiam fida is Latin for “faithful even in adversity,” or “still loyal in hardship.” The image is a broken column (a popular Neoclassical symbol of loss) with ivy climbing over its ruins. The message: even when life is shattered, loyalty endures. Remarkably, traces of green sealing wax are still lodged in the Tassie's grooves - left behind from the letters it once sealed.
