Google translate tells me that the French phrase "Le Plus Loin, Le Plus Tene" means "The Farthest, The Longest". I think there's more nuance there: two birds fly with the ends of a long string in their beaks. Maybe it's something more like "The further the distance, the tighter the knot". There's a love knot right in the middle of that string. A sweet sentiment (in amethyst!) from around 1800.
