This Georgian seal fob features a slab of carnelian carved with dove of peace beneath the words “Peace To My Friend.” This intaglio with its message of amity and tranquility was meant to be pressed into hot wax to create a decorative seal for correspondence. The wax seal fell out of use with the invention of the gummed envelope and the postal service, so though this lovely object may have outlasted its intended use, it makes for an exquisite, meaningful pendant.
