This early 19th century eternity band is set with a colorful array of gemstones, each one representing a planet or astronomical feature. Riotously colorful, it reflects the widespread enthusiasm for both science and astrology and at the time. I can't claim to know every stone's correlation; that's been lost to history. I do know that the moonstone or pearl = the moon, sapphire = Saturn, garnet = North Node, and emerald = Mercury. The white sapphire most likely symbolizes Venus. Heliodor - judging by the name - is meant to represent the Sun. It's a size 6 and cannot be resized. A "white whale" piece for collectors.
