It's the 1820's. John Quincy Adams is president in the USA, and the Oregon Trail is still twenty years away. Over in England, a young Charles Darwin sets sail on The Beagle and the first photograph (daguerrotype, actually) is taken. The Graham Cracker is developed in Bound Brook, New Jersey. Napoleon dies. Paleontology is born when Mary Anning discovers an Iguanodon tooth and Megalosaurus skeleton near her home in England. And the classically influenced "Regency / Empire" style was in full effect for clothing and jewelry. This turquoise pansy ring, with a hidden glass locket at the back, was typical of the era.
