This ring was made right around the Revolutionary War, and I don't know if it's American or English. The posey font (lettering inside) and sentiment "Live for God" would have been familiar to British people, but I bought this piece in America, and some of the engraving gives whiffs of the newborn USA. The shoulders are engraved with the giver's and the receiver's initials: HMT to TM. Beautifully braided hair lives under a rectangular glass panel.

HMT to TM live for god
