Concentric layers of brown, white and black circle one another in the mesmerizing way that only banded agate can achieve. Each ring of color forms over millennia, recording subtle variations in mineral flow. A high, smooth polish on each cabochon reveals the subtle transitions in hue. The locket is double-sided and framed in French 18k gold.
