Apollo is the Olympian god of light, music and poetry, healing and plagues, prophecy and knowledge, order and beauty, archery and agriculture. He's the ultimate Hellenic ideal: harmony, reason and moderation personified, a perfect blend of physical superiority and moral virtue. This late Georgian or early Victorian seal fob features a white chalcedony intaglio of Apollo, his lute carved beneath his chin for easy identification. The exquisite tricolor gold casing features musical instruments and a pair of snakes coiled together to form and frame and bale.
