Ave Imperator! In the Ancient Roman military, silver rings were only allowed to be worn by the higher ranking positions of Centurion, Tribune or Legate. Anyone below this level were only permitted to wear bronze rings. The bands or bezels of these rings were typically engraved with inscriptions or symbols relating to the wearer's legion. This band - made around 400 AD (!) and found in the UK, is a size 9.25 and cannot be resized.
