Why, oh WHY was this Victorian mourning band made with steel inlaid where hair usually appears? Why is there no dedication, but it's clear that the ring was worn and loved? Obviously this was a one-off commission. I'll accept your theories, but in truth we'll never know the story here. A one-of-a-kind piece.
