((about))It's hard to not fall in love with aquamarine, a stone that's named after the ocean (from the Latin aqua marinus, meaning "sea water".) In Ancient Greece, the stone was aligned with the god of the sea, Poseidon. We combined this noble gem with diamond trilliants on both sides, and mounted the three stones in 14k white gold. It's an Art Deco-inspired ring with petite proportions, a flat profile, and a dreamy color scheme.

In Greek mythology, Poseidon was the supreme ruler of the seas. When angry, he could cause violent natural disasters like earthquakes and storms, but if he was content, he'd protect sailors at sea and guide ships to safety. Aquamarine would have been his totem gem; since antiquity the blue stone has been associated with water and the ocean. Superstitious seagoers often carried it as an amulet to prevent drowning and stave off seasickness.
