16.5" chain length, plus 2" drop with pendant. A feldspar (aka satin spar, aka "Niagara stone") barrel charm holds a Stanhope with 6 views of Niagara Falls. The stone was mined locally and has a fibrous quality. These were popular souvenirs from the tourist site in the late 19th century. The beads on the chain are frosted opalescent glass. The wire linked construction is handmade. c. 1890. Barrel is 1/2" long, image is in great shape, all metal parts are gold fill.
