56 zolotniki gold - stamped and tested. By far the most common Russian gold standard from the late Imperial period, about 14k gold. 7/8" long, or 1 1/8" with ring. 1/2" wide. Meant to look like a folded envelope or piece of paper; all hand engraved. It says "Happy New Year" in pre-USSR letters (there was a spelling reform in 1919). On the back, the year "1900." with a weird 1/I between the letters - is this a Russian thing? An inside joke? Weighs exactly 4 grams.
