"There's my thumb I'll ne'er beguile thee". It's a Scottish phrase already old by the early 19th c. It's the refrain of an old song. It apparently refers to an old custom of pressing thumbs as a token of sincerity or a promise. The words encircle a hand with an XL thumb up.
