Normally we see a commemorative inscription on the INSIDE of bangles, where the message is hidden next to the skin. Whatever happened with AV and LH in 1900 (or whatever AVLH meant to someone), they wanted the world to know. Rubies and diamonds punctuate the engraved letters like sparkly fireworks in star settings.
