What happened on August 20, 1863? For one, Confederate guerillas attacked the pro-Union town of Lawrence, Kansas, murdering between 185 to 200 men and boys and destroying most of the town. Among the raiders was a young man named Jesse James. I doubt this locket is linked in any way to that event, but what a world, ya know? There's space inside for one photo and a hollowed-out spot for a keepsake.
