Sometime around the beginning of the Civil War, two flowers were picked. The day must have been memorable. Was it a romantic outing? Was there long-awaited good news? To remember the feeling in that moment, this locket's owner put the flowers under the glass panels. Just like hair, this organic material stays intact for a very, very long time. 150 + years. Faded and flattened but still recognizable, remembered.
