On this ingenious Victorian multi-tool, nothing exists that isn't necessary. The buttonhook, when folded into the crest-shaped housing, works as a loop to hold onto a chain. The knife's blade is still sharp enough to use, but do you have any shoes that need a buttonhook to fasten? I doubt it.
