In the northern hemisphere the migration of the swallow is one of the early indications of spring and sign of the fertile period to come. According to lore, swallows were a welcome sight to voyage-weary sailors who believed the little birds prevented ships from getting lost and led them into safe harbor. Modeled in 15k gold with an emerald in its beak, this late Victorian swallow was once a brooch, we've removed the pin and added an 18" gold chain to make it into a necklace.
