For the Victorians, two intertwined serpents were an emblem of eternal love. Here, one serpent is set with a turquoise, a stone associated with protection and luck, while the other holds a pearl, symbolizing purity and devotion. Giving a gift of a twin snake (the jewelry ones, not the Haribo ones) were a message that you and the recipient had an everlasting bond.
