The HMS Majestic was a Royal Navy battleship that was torpedoed by a U-boat on May 27, 1915. The ship capsized off the shores of Gallipoli taking with it 49 crew members. The wreck remains in the shallow waters off Cape Helles and is now part of Turkey's Gallipoli Historic Underwater Park. This commemorative locket features the logo and motto of the Royal Marines, "Per mare et terram" or "By sea and by land". The reverse side is engraved: 27th May 1915 H.M.S. Majestic.
