A true mystery. At first glance, doesn't it look like the hand is holding a pack of cigarettes? It's not. Lindsay's almost positive it's an en bloc clip, which re the bullet clips used in the kind of rifles employed in both WW1 and WW2. The dates - 1914 and 1939 - are the years that each of the wars began. The MR could be a military regiment, or maybe someone's initials? And the hallmarks are Dutch. Military historians, help us out! There's a story here for sure.
